Couple by fire enjoying tacos.Dog looking up at taco plate and margarita. It is no secret that we love tacos, and this Taco Tuesday dinner board is the perfect way to celebrate the occasion. Because all the fixings are right on the board, it makes it easy to transport to wherever the party is located. Your friends and family will have so much fun fixing up a few tacos to enjoy while socializing on the patio.

We used a 24″ serving tray with handles (found here on Amazon). If your tray isn’t meant to have food placed directly on it, lay down parchment paper first. Our center bowl was on the larger side, so we couldn’t place tacos around the entire circumference. We ended up with 23 tacos in total. I’m sure you could fit up to 30-40 tacos if you used smaller bowls.

We found this idea on Pinterest from the Reluctant Entertainer. She shares many different food board ideas and has her own “big board” line to shop.

Ingredients

Taco Shells

Taco Seasoning

Ground Beef (we used Trader Joe’s beef-less beef and enjoyed it as a meat alternative. 2 lbs of beef was enough for about 25-28 tacos)

Shredded Cheese

Cilantro

Shredded Lettuce

Tomato (chopped)

Onion (1 onion to cook with ground beef, and additional onion for topping)

Optional Add Ons

Sour Cream

Queso

Guacamole (or avocado slices)

Salsa

Black Olives

JalapeƱo Peppers

Habanero Peppers

Lime

Hot Sauce

Corn

Black Beans

Tortilla Chips

In order to keep the tacos hot, you can assemble the board completely, then cook the meat and prepare the tacos last. Or, you can prepare the tacos and leave in the oven until right before serving.

Directions
  1. Place desired sides in serving bowls and set in tray. Cut up tomato and peppers into bite sized pieces.
  2. Combine ground beef, one medium diced onion, and taco seasoning in a pan and cook until meat is browned.
  3. Fill the taco shells with meat and cheese and bake for five minutes. If you wanted to skip this step, you can as the cheese will still melt due to the heat of the cooked ground beef. We have skipped this step before and still found the tacos delicious.
  4. Place tacos on board. Serve and enjoy!
