Located halfway between Los Angeles and San Francisco, the Madonna Inn is a hotel resort in San Luis Obispo, CA. After seeing pictures, I knew I had to stay in one of their unique hotel rooms and dine at their perfectly pink steakhouse. I have to say, the hotel was even better in person. From the steakhouse, the bar, the decor, and the vintage appeal, I had never seen anything so fun and colorful in all my life.

Our Hotel Room

We stayed in the “Villa Rock” hotel room. Click here to view my separate post about our room. The room was spacious and had a vintage couch that I wish I could transport into our own living room. The accent walls and bathroom were made of large rocks, which I’m sure is the reason for the room’s name. We had initially wanted to stay in one of their famous pink rooms, but they were all sold out. If you are wanting to book a pink room, you may need to book 6 months (or more) in advance. However, I am glad we ended up in the room we did. I loved the gold and green, and the furniture was gorgeous.

Dining

We ate dinner at Alex Madonna’s Gold Rush Steakhouse (a must if you are visiting). I ordered the filet mignon and Will ordered the New York steak. Both were very good and cooked perfectly. The following day, we split their specialty burger for lunch at the Copper Cafe. Though the food and drinks were all excellent, the interior design stole the show.

The Bakery

You absolutely have to order something from their bakery. They have cookies, pies, pastries, and cake. We ordered the pink champagne cake, and it was amazing both in taste and presentation. You must order at least 72 hours in advance, although when we ordered, they were sold out of everything. Luckily they had a few extra cakes and baked goods the following morning before we left the resort. Again, the earlier you order, the better.

Pool / Spa

The pool at Madonna Inn is perfectly placed so that you can gaze out at the mountains while swimming or relaxing in the hot tub. They also have a huge waterfall behind the pool that was very therapeutic to watch while enjoying a drink from the pool bar. There were a lot of families with children at the pool during the day, but it started to clear out as the day got later. So basically, whether you’re hoping for a family-friendly experience or a more tranquil poolside lounge, the pool can meet your needs depending on the time of day. Their spa is right next to the pool for those hoping to get a facial or massage.

Gift Shops

They had multiple gift shops onsite, and I couldn’t resist purchasing some of their iconic water goblets and a Christmas tree ornament. They wrapped and boxed everything up in pink tissue and pink bags which added to the charm of it all.

I highly recommend a stay at the Madonna Inn. This resort will fulfill all your pink themed needs, whether that be for a wedding, bachelor/bachelorette party, friend’s trip, birthday party, or really any special occasion. I took so many more photos than I have shown here, from secret gardens, expansive views, majestic horses roaming the property, and spectacular water features. But I have to leave some of it a secret so you can experience the magic all for yourself.
