This boozy shamrock shake recipe is perfect for St. Patrick’s Day! Remember when we were young and enjoyed this classic green milkshake every March? Well now that we are adults, the addition of Bailey’s Irish Cream definitely seems necessary. The cherry on top is how easy this milkshake is to prepare.
Prep Time: 5 minutes
Serving Size: 2 milkshakes
Ingredients:
5 cups vanilla ice cream
1/2 cup milk
Green food coloring
1/2 cup Bailey’s Irish Cream
3 Tbsp Creme de Menthe (or substitute 1/2 tsp mint extract)
Optional Garnishes:
Whipped Cream
Maraschino Cherries
Fresh Mint
Green sanding sugar
Instructions:
Step 1 (Optional): Put green sanding sugar on a plate. Use a damp cloth to wet around the glass rim. Then twist the glass rim around in the sanding sugar until the sugar sticks.
Step 2: In a blender, add ice cream, milk, Bailey’s Irish Cream, Creme de Menthe, and 5-10 drops of green food coloring. Blend on high until smooth. Note: Add more food coloring to achieve a deeper color.
Step 3: Pour the milkshake into your glass and garnish with toppings.
Make it kid friendly:
Blend together 4 cups vanilla ice cream, 1 1/2 cups whole milk, 8-10 drops green food coloring, and 1/2 teaspoon mint extract. Serves 2.
